I ate a century egg

Actually, two of them. Sometimes called a thousand year egg, these are eggs preserved in clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls. The ones I had were quail eggs, so quite small. They were completely black. I would describe them as egg jerky. They are not as weird as snake wine.
